2016 Library Page Application.

Would you like a fun and challenging volunteer position this summer?
Will you be finishing 5th grade or up this spring?
Then Library Paging may be for you!
Here is the application. Or pick up one at the check out desk at the city hall library.
 It is due back at the library April 4th.

Spring training for Library Pages!

Is a program for kids who will be finishing 5th grade and up this spring. If you would like to volunteer to help create, prepare and present the summer reading program for kids from preschoolers to 5th grade then this is for you!

We will meet Tuesdays & Thursdays afterschool as soon as you can get to the LIBRARY 210 Washington Street until 5 starting Tuesday, May 10th through the June 2nd.  Applications will be available beginning March 14 at the library and online here.  They are due back April 3rd.

The summer reading program goes from June 13–Aug 12.

Library Staff Members at Greenvale School

Staff members Claudia and Kathy held a "Lego Camp" at the school between the Christmas and New Years holidays.
Here are the "campers" and the beginning of the town they created.  
Chelsea, Steven, Jasmine, Jennifer & Alex with the finished town.  There is a hot
tub, beach, haunted house, many air crafts, red hotel, park, and a tree house with zip line.  Pretty Cool!
Assignment: make an animal with at least 45 pieces.
Left to right a bird, an ostrich, a killer whale, a robotic dog, a robotic cat and a female giraffe.

Looking in books for inspiration then digging in the bins to create it.

Morning story times resume in January.

Our "Story times for All Ages" resume 10 am Wednesday morning January 6th.
Come and listen to some great picture books read aloud, discover delightful fingerplays,
and play with other children during this library time.
Hearing stories, songs and rhymes helps develop your child's vocabulary.
No sign up or registration needed. These story times are held in the City Hall Council Chambers on the south end of the first floor.

Wednesday & Fridays at 10 am
 
This session will run through early March when we start moving back into the renovated library.

Four Storytimes in December.

Everyone gets so busy in December we will be having only 4 storytimes.
All at 10 am in the City Council Chambers on the south end of the main floor.
Wednesday, Dec. 2 and Friday, Dec. 4
Wednesday, Dec. 9 and Friday, Dec. 11

We will resume our full schedule on Wednesday, January 6 through March.
